wow

we live in a crazy world. our economy is so crazy right now. this is stuff has never been seen before. I hardly understand it..... and the politics are getting annoying. I can't believe that next voting season, I'm going to be voting....AHHHH! we need to pray for our country and for our leaders more than ever right now. so many people are struggling through all of this. But, through it all, God is in control.....He has a plan and can work through anything....He will not let us down. Even though we may not see that plan right now. I'm gonna keep praying.....Will anyone join me?

News Flash: Teen capable of talking to adults!

"Yes, it's true folks! An actual teenager in Charlotte, NC had a real conversation with her mom this morning. And if that already isn't crazy enough, there was no yelling, arguing, or fighting involved! Believe it or not, this young, 15 year old girl has also been know to make her bed all by herself and do her homework with out being grounded.

Tomorrow she will titled 'Teen of the Year' in her town and there will now be a day named after her."

lol! this fake 'news flash' above is pretty funny. But sadly, it's almost believable in today's world, since, our culture is so drenched with low expectations for teens. It's really sad to me when some adults are shocked that I'm actually carrying on a REAL conversation with them. Or when they're so surprised that I actually respect them.

I'm nothing special. The only difference is that I'm surrounded with friends and family who actually DO have expectations for me. And I have God on my side.

I'm tired of being judged by my age. I'm tired of being told I'm too young to do anything or to have people disregard me or not take me seriously just because I'm a minor.

This is why I LOVE the Rebelution! They actually expect things of me, of you and of every other teen on this planet. They are already making a difference and I'm sure they'll continue to. After going to their conference and reading their book and blog, I'm so encouraged to do hard things for Christ! Will it always be easy? Absolutely not. But it is so worth it!

Back to two of my favorite verses:

2 Timothy 2:22
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

God Calls us to set an example for others even though we are young. He says not to let ANYONE look down on us just because we are young. We are supposed to flee the evil desires of youth. It isn't easy, but we CAN do it because God is behind us!!

We have babies!!

Finally, my hedgehog just had her babies.....I won't know for sure how many for a few more days. Soon, I'll post some pictures of the hedgies. Baby hedgehogs are pretty irresistibly cute! This is Millie's 4th litter and possibly her last, before I retire her. I just love my big girl!

Waiting.....

It seems like recently my life has been full of waiting......waiting is not always fun. Waiting for my hedgehog to have her babies(she was dues yesterday)....waiting to get my license(10 more months to go)....waiting until I graduate(2 1/2 more long years).....waiting for replies to emails....waiting to get a job......waiting for someone to actually take me seriously.....waiting.......

Some of them sound silly, but yes, I'm not the most patient person on this earth. I'm normally laid back so it would seem that I'm patient....but I'm not.

But you know what? I need to work on being more patient and right now it the best time to start.

lol, I'm just rambling....I'll post something more interesting in a few days.....

Music(part 2)

Below are my next 5. None of these selections are in a particular order..... There still are a whole lot more groups that I like, but I'm just going to make everyone bored, lol! And, not to be any more confusing, but none of this is really my favorite 'style' of music. I really love indie/folk/alternative rock and/or people with really unique voices. But I haven't found much, if any, Christian groups like that.....unfortunately, there aren't many unique Christian groups out there. So....if you know of any, PLEASE tell me!

6. The Afters

The Afters are a bit different than most of the music I listen to...but it's a nice change....' Ocean Wide' and 'Never Going Back to OK' are probably my favorites. 'Myspace Girl' is funny too, lol!

7. Switchfoot

Switchfoot is great! They have been around for quite a while, so they are pretty experienced. I haven't really been a fan of them until recently. So I haven't listened to all of their music yet. But everything I've heard so far has been very good! I love Jon Foreman's voice! Their lyrics are awesome too! My favorites are probably 'Dare you to Move', 'This is Home', 'Meant to Live', 'This is Your Life' and 'Redemption'. I can't pick just one!

8. Rush of Fools

I have to say Rush of Fools' music is not very orignal, but their lyrics are what I really love. They have done pretty well, being so young and beginners! They are so on fire for God! 'Fame' is my all time favorite of theirs. I'm looking forward to their new album 'Wonders of the World'

9. Run Kid Run

Run Kid Run has very distinctive music. I can't put my finger on what it is though. Maybe it's their voices...... My favorites of theirs is probably 'Freedom'. 'Captives Come Home' is really good too though. I really like their lyrics.

10. Starfield

Starfield is just amazing! I'm sure they would be awesome in concert or just leading praise and worship at church! Thier music is totally God centered. I have a lot of favorites.....here are some of them: 'Everything Is Beautiful', 'Great is the Lord' and 'Filled with Your Glory'. I love their voices as well.

Music(part 1)

I really love music. I mean, who doesn't like it? It is absolutely impossible for me to pick an all time favorite artist/group. So, in stead of doing that, I'm going to list some of my current favorites and explain why I like them.

1. Addison Road

I like Addison road for several reasons. First off, I love the girl's voice. I don't care for many girl's voices, but hers is amazing! I love a lot of their lyrics as well. Their actual music is good. I really like their slower songs(music wise). My favorite song by them is probably 'What Do I Know of Holy'.

2. Brandon Heath

Brandon Heath is definitely talented. I like his lyrics a lot. They have a mix of themes, which I like in an album. My favorite song by him is probably 'Give Me Your Eyes', but it's really hard to pick. I don't think that his music is incredibly orignal, but in the end, the lyrics are what really matter, right?

3. Nevertheless

Nevertheless is a very cool group. What I like about them, is that they parallel everything with Christ. Their lyrics are awesome and some of the music is pretty unique. They have an interesting way of writing some of their songs. A few are kind of written from God's point of view('Oh Child' and 'It's Me'). I really like the lead singer's voice as well. My favorite song by them is probably 'Oh Child', but I also really like 'Lover'.

4. Tenth Avenue North

What I love about Tenth Avenue North is that they really seem to be on fire for God and their lyrics really reflect that. I really like the lead singer's voice. 'Times' is definitely my favorite song by them. The lyrics are awesome and I love how the song is so simple....it kind lets focus on the words rather than the sound of the music(if that makes any sense?).

5. Fireflight

Fireflight is probably about the furthest I will go with hard rock. What I like about them is some of their songs are fairly hard rock, while other songs are slower. I love the girl's voice. My favorites by them are probably 'Wrapped in your Arms' and 'Unbreakable'.

I have several more current favorites. I will be making another post either today or tomorrow with 5 more of my favorites.

Randomness

What exactly is randomness?

Randomness is more than just saying random words that are not normally used. More than just blurting something out without apparent meaning in it's context. More than being 'different'. The more I think of the word random, the less I think that I am truly random. There aren't really many people(if any) on this earth that are truly random.....

I believe that a lot of people when trying to be random, they're exactly the opposite.....because many people try to be random.

So, I've decided that I am not random, or at least not solely random or rather, not how the rest of the world would probably define random. Because my original purpose in being random was to be different than others, to be myself and to be unique. I never tried to be random, I just was.

Instead, I'm going to be who I've always been, ME! Does that mean that I have not been myself in the past? Absolutely not. Does that mean that I am random? I guess the answer to that question would depend on how you define it. My thoughts probably come across as random to the world, but, through a complex chain of thoughts in my head, they all make sense. If I were to say, for example, oxy clean, it sounds random(except for the select few who actually understand my strange brain and I think you know who you are ;-)), but it really isn't. Everything I say and do have a meaning in a very perplexing way.

So, from now on, I am Redefining Random!

And to start off, cheese and bubble wrap are no longer random!

Sad News.....

Today my kitty died :-( Well, he didn't die, but we had to put him down. We brought him in to the vet this morning just to get his shots and before they could give one of the vaccinations, they needed to test him for feline leukemia. His test came back positive.

While he was not in pain, it would have eventually been deadly and is extremely contagious to other kitties. Since we have 3 other cats, we had to get all of them tested as well. Their tests came back negative, thank God! We were really expecting at least some of the others to have it.

We haven't had Sampson for long. He showed up on our doorstep one day about 2 months ago. He was so sweet and wouldn't leave, so we decided to keep him. Sampson always loved to be petted and loved.

We'll miss you sweet boy!

Why?

I've always been the type that asks questions....to the point where I would drive my parents insane(lol) as a little girl. I ask questions about everything. Why? Because I'm a very curious person. When I wonder about something, I'm going to ask. One year for Christmas, I got a book called 'How Come' from my aunt and uncle. They were on the right track, but that book didn't satisfy my thirst to know stuff....I continued to ask questions.

While questions can be a great thing, I don't need to be asking God questions about what He's doing. I need to trust Him. I need to not worry about things I have no control over. I don't need to ask Him 'Why am I going though this?' or 'Why is this happening?' or try to figure out it myself. Unfortunately, I still do.... why? because I'm a sinner....a wretched sinner. What I need to ask Him is: What would You do? What would you like for me to do? Those questions are a little harder to ask and follow through with.

In the past, I see times in my life where I was going through some really hard stuff. Now looking back, I can totally see God's hand through it all, I can see how He had a plan and how I grew from the experience. But when I was going through those rough things, I was like 'Why? Why me?'.

Only through the grace of God will I get any better at asking the 'right' questions.....

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.-Romans 15:13

My blog.......FINALLY!

Hi everyone! I've finally joined the blogging world! YAY!!! I will try to make posts as much as possible....but with school and my busy life, we'll see how often that is.

CAUTION: I
the queen of randomosity....so don't be shocked if my blog reflects that.

I will start off with a couple verses:

2 Timothy 2:22
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

These are 2 of my favorite verses and I just felt like posting them.... :D
